Eco Artists that Inspire Me

One of our new and recent assignments was to research more about Eco-Art.
I am searching through the web and looking through pictures of eco-friendly art; One work of art caught my eye: Andy Goldsworthy's Rowan Leaves with Hole

Follow this link :http://sculptureresearch.wordpress.com/andy-goldsworthy/#jp-carousel-42 I love the way Andy Goldsworthy composed the leaves in a circular form and the colored leaves he used brings our attention to the black circle in the center.  This art work makes me think of a black sun because the colors emphasize the black circle in the middle and it looks like the colors is the sun's rays.

In Pebbles Around a Hole,  Goldsworthy continues to use circular shapes and color gradients in his works.
Japanese Maple compared to the first three pictures is similar because leaves are being incorporated, the circular shapes are repeating, and the colors used is based on nature.

Andy Goldsworthy was born in 1956 in Cheshire, England. In his works he is known to use an endless range of natural resources : ice, leaves, rock, twigs, bark, etc.  He likes to create outdoor sculptures (see pictures above) and before his art work disappears he documents it by taking color photographs.
